| Letter from Eric Bunner:
Lenny,
I would like to share with you the experience I had this past weekend.
Myself and five others drove from Illinois to Dubois last Thursday (1/13)
to enjoy a four day weekend in the Wind River Range. We arrived at the
MacKenzie Highland Ranch on Friday and were able to ride for half a
day (our decision to stay at the MacKenzie's was based on a trip we
made six years prior to the Wapati Bed & Breakfast where we were
introduced to the MacKenzie's). Saturday morning we awoke to frozen/backed-up
plumbing which prevented us from using the bathroom or shower. Needless
to say, we weren't very pleased! That was when I decided to call over
to the Line Shack to see if they had any vacancy. I had the phone number
memorized since I had been calling and speaking to your staff about
snow conditions for the last couple of months. I spoke with Mike at
6:00 am that morning, and we were checked by 9:00 am. The guys in the
shop performed a little juggling act to hook-up each member of my group
with a 700 RMK and we were on the trail by 11:00 am. Our trip could
have easily been ruined if it weren't for your staff going out of there
way to accommodate us.
Furthermore, just when we thought things were going our way, Larry (my
Father) hit a frozen drift on the side of trail CD two miles South of
the Line Shack and rolled his sled Sunday afternoon. He got away with
a sore shoulder and some bruised ribs, however, the sled didn't fair
so good. Being new to sled rentals, we all neglected to purchase the
optional insurance which we won't make that mistake again! We went to
bed that night expecting the worse, thinking that this was the perfect
opportunity for someone to take adavntage of a guest and make some money.
Larry and Todd met with Mike first thing Monday morning to assess the
damage. To our surprise, Mike did everything in his power to help minimize
the cost burden on my Father. Once again, our trip took a turn for the
worse and the Line Shack came to the rescue!
We stayed for two nights and rode three full days all while enjoying
breakfast, dinner, and drinks inside the Lodge. My Uncle Rob, Brother-in-Law
Chris, and myself were fortunate enough to visit with Mike Sunday night
for a couple of hours and I must say that there is no one better to
have in his position. He was deeply concerned with how our trip was
going and his stories were second to none. He provided us with the history
of the Line Shack, hunting stories, snowmobiling stories and tips, etc...
Thanks to Mike and the rest of the staff, a trip that could have been
a nightmare turned into one of the most memorable trips ever!!! On our
eighteen hour drive home, we began discussing our plans to return to
the Line Shack in 2006. We now refer to the Line Shack as the "Top
of the Line Shack"!
Hopefully we get the opportunity to meet you next year!
Thanks again!!!

My family and I rode the area this past week and the conditions were
perfect. There was plenty of snow on the trails and off. Unfortunately
we left early to go riding in the "Snowie's": wish we would
have stayed in Dubois, the "Snowie's" were nice, but nothing
like around The Shack. Luckily we will be back in 2 weeks. For all who
are going; have fun, save us some snow and give Bruce, Fuzzie, and Mike
some s**t for us! |

Haven't stayed there before. Had a break down last year, towed the
sled into the shack's repair shop. Left it there, had lunch, came out.
They had fixed my sled and had me back on the trail in no time. The
people are great, and the riding is out of site. |

hi, I'm a seasoned wyoming sledhead in Casper. My buddies and I have
stayed at the LIne Shack several times, and loved it. It's awesome for
snowmobiling stops, and I loved it! We belong to the SnowGypsies, but
still come up for hunting too. It's like a home-away-from-home. We plan
on getting reservations for the new year also....Farmer's almanac says
we're in for some good snow this year....yeah it's about time! Keep
up the good work! Wendy/Wolves123 |

My 8th and 9th trip will be this winter. I just rode Cooke city last
week, and the snow was deep, but there wasn't as much open riding and
the people were not very nice. We love Mike and the gang at the shack! |

We have stayed at the Lineshack for the last 3 years, a couple of times
each winter. The combination of riding, dining, and lodging is remarkable.
Awesome staff. I look forward to this trip again!. The snow got deep
not too far away from the lodge...
P. S. I will be sending back the punch that belongs to the guy in the
shop (he helped me get a bolt out of a blown exhaust valve). We found
it in the pan when we got home Sunday!
Mike and Debbie,
Will you please send me some info on coming out this summer? I want
to bring my daughters out for a trail ride. When is the best (and safest)
time to come?
Thanks again guys...hopefully see you in March....
